-----

The episode begins with a flashback to the childhood days of Alwyn, Mikel, Janus, Mhyco, and Paw, as they are seen again playing around Paw's family coffeeshop. Two of the boys are arm wrestling. Soon after, Paw steps up and decides to challenge Mikel to an arm wrestling match. While she arm wrestles with him, her aunt comes by and reprimands her, and the boys skip away, while Paw sits at the coffee shop.

[audio is a bit fuzzy. will try to catch it again next time]"

The scene shifts to the present, to the interior of the Coffee King shop. Mikel is handing out flyers to Alwyn and Janus advertising the opening of the brand new "Coffee King." He asks them to hand out the flyers for the store's opening tomorrow. As Janus and Alwyn sit down to look at the flyers, Paw storms into Mikel's store and yells at him for having no shame in inviting her to the opening of his shop. Mikel asks what's the problem, and Paw responds that inviting her is equivalent to insulting her.

She then hands Janus and Alwyn the flyers for her coffeeshop, "Barako ni Manang." Alwyn reads the flyer out loud, and it reveals that Paw's coffee shop is offering a 10% discount. Mikel looks at the flyer and makes fun of Paw's drawing in the flyer.

He then challenges Paw's 10% discount by stepping it up with a 15% discount for his own coffee. Paw grabs her flyer and writes it up to a 20% discount. Janus scolds them both for acting like kids and tells them that they might end up going bankrupt if they keep doing this... they might as well give the coffee away for free! He tells them that he wants them both to make some money.

Mikel replies that he has better things to do. Annoyed, Paw walks out of the coffeeshop and Janus follows her out, and Mikel mocks Paw again behind her back and goes to the back room of his own coffeeshop.

The scene shifts to a poorer area of town where kids are outside shanties playing, and we see Alwyn bringing Mhyco back home to his house, only to find Mhyco's boss already there waiting for them. Mhyco's sister and baby brother are also there.

Mhyco's boss scolds him for taking one of the horses out of the stable, since it was against the rules. He says to Mhyco that he has no choice but to fire Mhyco, and Mhyco puts his arm around his boss and pleads with him to get his job back, but his boss doesn't give him a second chance.

Mhyco's sister asks him what they are going to do, because she also has expenses that she has to pay for school. Alwyn apologizes to Mhyco and tells him that it was really Hazel's fault, and that he's going to tell her about it. Mhyco says that it was really his fault for letting the horse out, and that it's really hard to get a job nowadays. He goes on to scratch his head with a piece of paper, and Alwyn takes it out of his hand. He presents the Coffee King flyer to Mhyco, saying this is the solution to your job hunting problems. Mhyco and Alwyn trade high-fives at the idea of Mhyco going to work there.

Meanwhile, Jill is at the rooftop of her building, hanging clothes up on a clothes line, while singing "Crazy for You." Hazel surprises her from behind, and Jill comments to her that she pretends to have a concert while her Mom and siblings are away.

She asks Hazel why she's here with her instead of enjoying "bonding time" with her mom and brother. Hazel says "yuck!" in disgust, and that it's better that there's no bonding time because her dad and Tita Pinky are in Manila, and only her mom is left at home. She doesn't feel like pretending to be nice. Jill thanks Hazel for not telling her secret to Alwyn. Turns out Jill's mom doesn't want her father to know that her mom is having a hard time. She says that if she ever sees her father from America, he'll help them and they won't have to hide anymore. Hazel says that it's nothing, but questions Jill as to why she cares about what Alwyn thinks, and accuses her of having a thing for him.

Jill replies that she still believes in what her Aling Pekwa fortold for her -- that she'll fall in love with a boy who's curly-haired, moreno, able to sing, and named Marc. Hazel says that she's such a weirdo and the two of them playfully go at it.

-----

Later that day, Hazel returns home, and puts her feet up on the living room table, and starts reading a book. Just then, Alywn and their mom walk in giggling while looking at pictures. Their mom goes over to Hazel and asks her if she's hungry and says that she cooked spaghetti, knowing that it's Hazel's favorite.

Hazel responds coldly that she's not hungry, and that spaghetti isn't her favorite. She closes her book and picks up her things to go upstairs, and her mom asks her to join them. Hazel declines and responds that she's tired, and their mom tells her that she and Alwyn have been looking at Hazel's pictures while they were away in America. Their mom says that now is the perfect time to bond and be a family again. Hazel replies that a family doesn't leave each other, and that she doesn't want to bond with them.

Alwyn scolds her for talking to their mom like that, and asks her what happened to her. He tells her that if she has a grudge against them, they should talk it out -- and she shouldn't let other people be affected by her anger. He reveals to her that Mhyco lost his job because of her, and Mhyco is the main breadwinner of his family. He asks her what does she think will happen to them, and Hazel turns and walks away. Their mom tells Alwyn to leave her be.

----

Back at Mhyco's house, Mhyco apologizes to his sister, saying that he has no choice but to leave her with their baby brother, because he has to go to work. He promises her that when he comes back, she'll be able to go and play and he'll take care of their baby brother, Adol.

Just then, Hazel steps out of a car and walks towards Mhyco and his siblings. Mhyco looks afraid, and asks Hazel why she's there, saying he hopes she does not intend to hurt his family also. He tells her that if she really wants to box, he has a friend that he can take her to.

Hazel says she has come to apologize to him, and Mhyco replies that she must think that because he's poor, all he wants is money, since she's rich. He continues that he doesn't, and asks her how she knew where his house was -- she probably asked for it because she misses him and she wants to see him!

Hazel interjects and states that she only asked Alwyn for it after Alwyn made her feel bad and she came to apologize to him. She asks him what she can do to prove that she's really sorry, and Mhyco picks up his baby brother, hands the baby to Hazel, then tells his sister Sunny that she can go play now. He tells Hazel he'll accept her apology if she takes care of his baby brother. He kisses his baby brother on the head and leans in for a kiss from Hazel and she pulls away in reflex. Mhyco then tells her to "Enjoy!" then he walks off to work. Hazel and the baby look at each other, and they go inside the house.

Left with no choice, Hazel is stuck inside the house, trying tries her best to keep the baby happy. She looks panicked as the baby begins to cry, and she tries to give him a bottle to calm him down. She tries to make happy faces for him but the baby continues to cry. Frustrated and running out of ideas, Hazel looks around for what else she can do. She picks up the baby to try and calm it down and then lays him down for a diaper change. Hazel continues to try and make the baby happy and swings hin inside his carriage. With the baby finally calm, Hazel tiredly sits down and smiles.

----

That night, Carla stands in front of the brand new Coffee King and cuts the ribbon to officially open the store. Everyone claps, and at Mikel's invitation, they enter the shop. Outside the store, Alwyn spots Jill and greets her, and asks her why she left the debut so soon. Jill changes the subject by asking for Hazel, and Alwyn says he doesn't know where she is. He offers her to get coffee together while they wait for her but Jill declines, saying that she was only there to meet up with Hazel. She looks out for Hazel, just as Janus, Carla, and Marc join them.

Janus compliments Carla on her speech today, and she says cutting a ribbon isn't all that complicated. When Carla introduces her friend Marc from Manila to them, Jill immediately becomes interested when she hears his name and notices the curly hair and dark skin. Alwyn then introduces Jill to Carla and Marc.

As the evening progresses, Jill and Marc are sharing coffee when Jill mentions to him that she's a fashion design student. Marc is impressed, and Alwyn interrupts their conversation and offers Jill some Mocha Mix. Jill politely declines, saying she is already drinking coffee. She gives her coffee to Marc and takes the Mocha Mix.

Marc mentions that Carla is giving him a tour of the town tomorrow, and that he's going with her to a charity event. He then invites both Jill and Alwyn to come along. Jill happily accepts while Alwyn hesitates but later confirms. Marc says that he hopes Carla with bring Janus so he can get tips from him about his hair. Alwyn quietly replies that it's like armpit hair, and Jill scolds him and compliments Marc. Alwyn gets up to use the bathroom and accidentally spills his coffee on Marc. He quietly laughs and Jill tries to suppress her laughter. She helps Marc to the bathroom to clean up.

Janus joins Carla while she is at a table doing some paperwork. He asks her why she's doing work now, and Carla responds that she has an event tomorrow to attend to -- "Bulilit Day," an outreach day for children. She says that she's so fond of children because she herself is an only child, then asks Janus whether he likes children. Janus without thinking says that yes, he would like to have a child with her -- to which Carla's eyes open wide with surprise. He corrects himself and says that he meant to say he likes children too.

She tells him that Marc is coming along tomorrow, and invites Janus to come too -- the more the merrier! Janus happily accepts and says that she's strong -- err, "malakas" with him.

Just then, Mikel joins them at the table and says that running the shop is so tiring. Carla takes his hand and reassures him that he can do it, and Janus uneasily looks at their joined hands, feeling jealous.

Mikel gets up to present a new promotion at the shop offered by Mhyco and him -- if you buy one coffee, you get your choice of the second for free. Paw happens to walks by the shop with a determined look on her face. She and Mikel make eye contact and then she walks away.

Back at her shop, Paw is busy advertising to her patrons that if they get coffee, afterwards they can also get a free kiss! Mikel gets up and asks for another coffee, and Paw inquires him sternly about why he's here -- she says she thought he 'died' already from the bad taste of his coffee. Mikel presents her with a flyer for the "Acoustic Night" at the Coffee King that night.

She urges him to leave the store, but Mikel asks about the free kiss. Paw calls her aunts out, and tells them that there is someone who wants a kiss. They pull Mikel down and kiss him on both cheeks, much to his dismay.

----

The next day, Janus, Alwyn, Jill, Carla, and Marc are at the "Bulilit Day 2005." They hand out toys to the children and Janus joins the children crowding around Carla, reaching for the toys that she is handing out. At one point, he is almost swooning as he gets to hold her hand. hehe.

Later in the event, Carla reads a story to the children and Janus stares at her, mesmerized, but then when Carla notices, he just smiles and shrugs it off.

Nearby, Jill and Marc are drawing new fashion deigns for a dress and a fairy. Alwyn sits at another table, drawing a yellow cartoon monster. He goes over to present it to Jill but is embarrassed after he sees Marc's fairy drawing.

We also see Carla having her picture taken with all of the kids there and she also has a photo with Janus. She then gets the camera to take a picture of Janus and Marc together, and Janus tries to move away while Marc puts his arm around him. LOL.

As the event comes to an end, Jill is in a hurry to leave, saying that her mom might be looking for her. Alwyn jumps up and offers to escort her home, and she politely declines, and asks him to tell Marc goodbye for her. Disappointed, Alwyn draws a broken sign on the pink heart he drew on a piece of paper, and tosses it away.

----

The scene shifts to later that day, in front of Coffee King. Paw is about to come to blows with Mikel, but her aunts are holding her back.

Janus, Alwyn, Carla, and Marc come out, and Janus switches to his gay mode in front of Paw's aunts. He asks what is going on, and Mikel coolly replies that Paw came to the front of his shop so all his customers could watch her. Paw bursts out again and her aunts hold her back, and Mikel tells her that he has better things to do than fight with her. He invites everyone to the Acoustics Night at his shop at 8 PM.

Paw evens the score by announcing that there will be a special event at their coffeeshop too -- and her aunts declare that they will have a special comedy show with Janus as the host. Janus is taken by surprise, but goes along with the idea.

On the spur of the moment, Mikel then replies that Alwyn will be the singer at his Acoustics Night, and Alwyn is surprised also. Mikel then advises Alwyn to drink Salabat to make his voice sound better. He then wishes Paw and her aunts good luck, and walks back into the shop.

Paw then begs Janus to do the show for her, and Janus replies in a gay manner that he can't do it alone. Suddenly, a bug lands on Marc and he squeals like a little girl, much to everyone's surprise. Janus looks at Marc with new eyes, and informs Paw that he knows exactly who his partner should be for the night.

----

The scene shifts to the rooftop of Jill's building, where Hazel is pleading with Jill to sleep over at her house again, because Hazel is alone with her mom again. Jill says she thinks that Hazel's overreacting with her grudge against her mom and tells Hazel to give her mom a chance to make things right again. She continues to say that at least Hazel's mom came back -- her own father didn't even come back from America.

Hazel pleads with her again, and Jill finally relents, but tells Hazel she has to go with her to Paw's coffeeshop because Marc texted her about it. She excitedly explains to Hazel that she met Marc at the opening of the Coffee King, and she thinks that he is the one that she's destined to fall in love with. Hazel tells her that it's just a coincidence with what Aling Pekwa foretold to her.

Jill peers into Hazel's bag and pulls out cigarettes and tells her she understands those, but then she pulls out a baby bottle nipple from Hazel's bag, and asks her why Hazel has one. Hazel nervously replies that it probably just fell in her bag or something, and Jill responds that it's a coincidence also. Jill is about to toss it away, and Hazel stops her, saying that she could use it as a fashion accessory. Jill comments that Hazel's fashion sense is really weird, and gives her the baby bottle nipple back. Suddenly Jill thinks about Marc and swoons while saying his name over and over. She breaks out in to song and starts to serenade Hazel.

-----

Later that evening, Paw and Janus are together in her coffee shop, preparing for their comedy show. Janus is dressed up in drag with heavy eye make-up.

Paw thanks Janus for helping out as she fixes his drag-queen wig. Janus prays that people won't throw tomatoes at him during the show, and that hopefully something will happen so that Carla won't show up --- and Carla walks in just as he is saying her name.

Carla excitedly hugs Paw and compliments Janus on his drag-queen beauty. She presents him with flowers as a thank-you gesture since he accompanied her yesterday at the Bulilit Day. She tells him that she's excited to see them perform, and a very embarrassed Janus calls out to Marc to ask him if he's ready. Marc opens the door and they all scream in shock. Janus manages to shout, "Perfection!" in a gay manner with a smile.

Outside, a crowd has gathered in front of the makeshift stage. Hazel and Jill join Paw, Carla, and TJ at the show, and TJ mentions to Paw that he really needs to leave. Paw asks him, why now, especially during the show? Just then, Paw's aunt gets up on the stage to introduce Janus and Marc.

TJ promises Paw he'll make it up to her and gets up to leave, just as Paw's aunt introduces "Janice" and "Marcuva." Janus and Marc come out in their flashy drag-queen glory, and begins their comedy show with gay humor. Hazel quietly asks Jill if Marc is turning out to be gay, and Jill looks at her puzzled.

Janus turns the stage over to Marc, and Marc attempts to make fun of a chubby man in the audience. He brings the man up on stage and the man punches Marc in the face. Carla's bodyguards get up and pull out their guns while they push the man away. Paw's aunts and Janus get up to help Marc, and the audience runs away in the ensuing melee.

Marc leans on Janus and thanks him for being his hero, and Paw's aunts come out with and ice-pack for Marc's bruises and take him to the hospital. Paw apologizes to everyone saying she just wasted their time. She suggests that they all go and attend Mikel's Acoustic Night instead. Janus tells her that they can't just leave her here after everything that happened, but Paw tells him to go because she wants to be alone.

Hazel and Jill bid everyone farewell and go on their way, and then Carla leaves with her bodyguards. Janus gets up but hesitates to leave, saying he'll stay and help her clean up, but he eventually leaves when Paw urges him to go.

At Coffee King, Alwyn is up on stage playing the guitar and singing "Crazy for You" just as Jill and Hazel enter. Jill stares, impressed, and Carla and Janus join Mikel. They inform him of the trouble the happened at Paw's coffeeshop, and Mikel excuses himself to leave.

Mhyco takes Hazel aside and thanks her for taking such good care of his baby brother. She opens her bag and gives him back the baby bottle hipple, and says to give it to her brother.

Mhyco leaves Hazel, and Alwyn goes up to her and Jill. He tells her that Mhyco mentioned to him what she did for him and his brother, and tells her that he knew his sweet sister was still there. He affectionately touches her face slightly and Hazel snaps back at Alwyn that Mhyco should prepare for round 3 because she told Mhyco not to tell anyone that she helped him. She storms off and takes Jill by the hand. As they are leaving Jill smiles and compliments Alwyn on his singing, and Alwyn thanks her and smiles back. Alwyn quietly celebrates and Jill looks back as they walk out the door.

Janus is standing alone at the top of the stairs, practicing what he will say to Carla to reveal to her that he's not gay. Carla surprises him from behind and asks him who he's talking to and he replies "Carlo," some random customer. She tells him that her ride is there, and asks if he wants to go with her home, but Janus declines and instead offers to just walk her to her car because he is going to stop by Paw's coffeeshop.

Janus mentions how good Alwyn was at singing and that it's good that Mikel's coffeeshop is doing well even though there was trouble at Paw's coffeeshop. Janus is about to say something more, but Carla begins to comment on how great Mikel is at business and mentions his many talents, including the fact that he's cute. She then tells Janus not to tell Mikel she said so or else his ego might get too big.

She then asks Janus what he was about to say, but Janus, feeling defeated and jealous, says it's nothing -- and that her car was already waiting outside. Carla mentions that it's a shame that Marc is returning to Manila so soon, because she thought that he and Janus would have made a good couple. Carla hurries off and bids Janus goodbye, and Janus looks hurt and doesn't respond.

Meanwhile Paw tries to call TJ, but he's not answering his cellphone. Mikel arrives at her coffeeshope and Paw looks at him digusted. She tells him that he won, but Mikel responds that he just came to see if everything's okay. Paw replies that he came to embarrass her, but Mikel denies it. He tells her he doesn't want to fight with her over business because it's stooping to a lower level. Paw says that it's probably a lower level for him because he doesn't understand, because to him this is just another business or job. She explains that this is her life, and if she ever lost it she doesn't know what she'd do. She doesn't want to do anything else. Tears stream down her her face and Mikel embraces her.

As the episode ends, Mikel says in a voice over:
"Tulad ng Bunong Braso, may mga laban talaga na kailan mong harapin mag-isa.."

The scene flashes to Jill and Hazel arriving at Hazel's house. They enter and Hazel's mom sweetly asks her how her night was, and Hazel sharply replies that it was boring. Jill smiles apologetically and they go up stairs. Hazel's mom looks away sadly.

Mikel: "pero minsan, nakakakuha ka ng lakas mula sa mga tao na nasa paligid mo..."

We see Carla leaving the Coffee King, just as Janus chases after her to reveal his feelings. But he is too late, and dejected, he stops and sits on the stairs. Before long, Alwyn and Mhyco join him on the steps to offer their support.

Jill and Hazel go into her room and Jill scolds her for talking back to her mom, and Hazel tells her not to get involved. Jill picks up a memory book and opens it. She sees a diploma and asks Hazel whose it is, and Hazel tells her to look. Jill opens it and sees the name, "Alwyn Marc Mendoza," and says "Marc" to herself and smiles.

Mikel: "...at sa mga pagkakataon na hindi mo inaasahan, mismo kalaban mo ay nagbibigay sayo ng lakas, para sa mga susunod ng laban."

The scene flashes to Paw and Mikel at her coffeeshop. The look at each other and lean in and Mikel kisses her softly. They pull away just as Mhyco, Janus, and Alwyn come inside.

Mhyco gives Paw a hug and wipes away a tear, and Alwyn and Janus ask her and Mikel if they are okay now. They nod, and Janus says for everyone to give a group hug. Paw replies "beste ven" and Janus and Alwyn think she say "Steven" and ask who is "Steven." They laugh and begin to sing a song about Paula, and everyone smiles.

They play around and give each other another group hug, as the episode ends.

Episode 14.0

The Qpids Episode for Week 14 is entitled "Taguan". Today's show is the first installment of the Qpids Dramaserye for the remaining 4 Qpids Loveteams.

------

Prologue -- 1996

In this episode's prologue (via Alwyn's voiceover), we learn that Alwyn, Janus, Mikel, and Mhyco are childhood friends who grew up together in the same neighborhood. We see them as four young boys, playing hide and seek (taguan) together near the coffee shop that is owned by the parents of their friend Paula.

Their friendship was forged when one day, two men attempted to rob the coffee shop of Paula's family. The boys figured that they could help thwart the robbery by letting the air out of the tires of the robbers' cars. The police were able to arrest the robbers thanks to the boys' brave act.

As a token of appreciation, one of the police officers gave them the tire they had deflated. Not only did the tire become their makeshift swing (when tied to a tree branch), it also came to symbolize their friendship.

Unfortunately, despite their commitment to stay together as friends, Alwyn had to leave for the US with his mother, and it is only 9 years later that he gets a chance to return and reconnect with his friends.

The Present -- 2005

Alwyn and his mother arrive at their house and are greeted by Alwyn's father and second wife (who happens to be the sister of Alwyn's mother). We learn that they have arrived in time to attend the debut of Hazel, Alwyn's sister; the debut is scheduled for the next evening, and at his father's request, Alwyn agrees to be Hazel's escort.

Hazel joins them in the living room, but she shows no enthusiasm whatsoever at the return of her mother and brother, and even less interest in her upcoming debut. She rushes to leave the house, saying she is late for school.

While the family is still gathered in the living room chatting, Janus arrives to greet his long lost friend. Alwyn at first does not recognize Janus, but he is happy when he realizes that it is Janus. Janus then asks "O... kamusta na ba 'yan? Okay na ba yan?" while pointing at Alwyn's chest. Alwyn says, "Eto, may turnilyo sa loob, pero okay pa naman, tumatakbo pa naman." Alwyn then invites Janus upstairs to chat and catch up while he's changing.

....

The two friends go to visit Mhyco, as he is out at a nearby ranch tending to horses. Alwyn is excited to see his friend, but there are a few awkward moments, as Mhyco is embarrassed about his job and economic status, but both Alwyn and Janus show that they're more interested in Mhyco's friendship than Mhyco's (lack of) money.

Alwyn learns that life has been tough for their friend. Mhyco's family suffered financial losses, and so they had to move out of their subdivision, and Mhyco is now working as a stable boy in one of the ranches.

Alwyn says that he just got back because it will be his sister's debut the following evening. Mhyco asks about Hazel -- they apparently know each other but it has been a while since they've been in touch.

Alwyn asks Mhyco how he is, saying that it's been a while. Janus pipes in remarking that it seems like Mhyco has been avoiding him. Alwyn takes the opportunity to invite Mhyco to attend his sister's debut. Mhyco at first says no, but he finally relents and agrees.

----

As Alwyn and Janus are in the car driving back, Janus tells Alwyn that he has lost touch with Mikel after the latter moved to Manila. He says they're no longer close, even though they're still friends. He had last heared that Mikel had joined a company and was a manager somewhere.

As they drive along, Alwyn points out their old hangout, which has now closed and has a sign "Coffee King -- soon to open" displayed prominently in front. Janus tells Alwyn that it has been purchased by the Coffee King chain. Janus jokingly says he even rallied against the purchase. He also shares that their old childhood friend Paw (Paula) was worried about the soon-to-open coffee shop, because it will be competing directly with her family's coffee shop business.

Just then, Alwyn temporarily loses control of the car when a pink bandana flies onto his windshield and blocks his vision. They pull over to the side and get out of the car to retrieve the bandana. Just then, Jill drives up in a little scooter and Alwyn is almost immediately lovestruck when he sees her. Jill apologizes about the bandana, and attempts to retrieve it. Alwyn attempts to flirt with her by asking for her name, but Jill ignores his advances and simply retrieves her bandana. She bids Janus farewell and hops back on her scooter. Alwyn tries to interrogate Janus about Jill, but Janus evades giving definite answers by cracking a few jokes, saying he'll tell Alwyn more about her later, if Alwyn will buy Janus a cup of coffee at Paw's coffee house.

----

At the coffee shop, Paw is busy at the counter, and we see a newly arrived customer sitting at a table. He teases Paw, saying some miracle must have happened because she's so pretty all of a sudden. Paw is confused when the customer teases her with their old childhood taunt... but she eventually realizes that it's Mikel.

Mikel orders a cup of coffee, and Paw as Paw prepares it, Mikel remarks that he's amazed at the longevity of the shop. Paw says the store has been there since 1908, and she brags about the quality of their coffee... saying that it's unlike all the other stores which serve everything "instant".

Just then, Alwyn and Janus friends arrive at the coffee shop, with Janus announcing that he has a surprise for Paw. As they walk in, they notice Mikel there sitting at a table, waiting for his coffee. The three friends greet each other heartily, and Mikel reveals to his friends that he will be managing the soon-to-open Coffee King branch, much to Paw's dismay.

She becomes upset when Mikel says that he'll be having coffee at her coffee shop while his own store isn't open yet. When she starts berating him, Mikel reminds her that he's a paying customer and even leaves a P500 bill to pay for his single cup of coffee, telling Paw "keep the change, darling."

Janus stops Paw from hitting Mikel, and as Mikel is about to leave, Alwyn stops him in time to invite Mikel to his sister's debut the next evening. Mikel at first tries to decline, but with Janus' insistence, Mikel finally agrees.

As Alwyn is standing at the door of the coffee shop, he sees Jill riding by on her scooter. He smiles and waves at her, and Jill looks surprised as she rides past.

----

The following day, Janus is at the coffee shop with Paw, and Paw is still upset about Mikel coming to "spy" on their coffee shop. Two of Paw's aunts are there, and one of them wonders out loud if the curse against their family is finally coming true.

Janus remarks that they obviously believe in the curse because Paw's two aunts chose not to marry. Paw's aunt then points out to Paw that their bad luck in business began when Paw and her boyfriend TJ became a couple. Paw looks shocked and worried, but is unable to deny her aunt's remarks.

----

The scene shifts to what appears to be Hazel's bedroom, and Jill is there with her dressed in a pink robe. Jill excitedly admires at Hazel's debutante gown, which Hazel complains as being "masyadong pa-tweetums". Jill tries to encourage Hazel to try it out, but Hazel is disinterested; she tells Jill she can try it out if she wants. Jill removes her robe and pulls on the dress.

Just then, Alwyn walks past Hazel's open bedroom door and sees Jill putting on the dress. He leans against the doorway and says to Jill that the dress suits her. Upon hearing his voice, Hazel gets up and slams the door in his face, saying "Sorry, no boys allowed!"

Alwyn then leans against the door to listen to the girls' conversation, just as Jill asks who that guy is. Jill is surprised to learn he is Alwyn, Hazel's older brother. Jill says it's weird but she has seen him twice already today... and she's amazed to realize that he is her best friend's brother.

Outside the door, Alwyn is happy to realize that his "mystery girl" is the best friend of his sister.

Inside the room, Hazel tells Jill to stay away from Alwyn, because all boys are the same, if they're not insensitive, they're selfish... otherwise they're liars...

Jill says that if she ever gets to know the guy who turned Hazel into a manhater, she will beat him up. Hazel responds that if ever she sees the guy, she'll be the one to beat him up personally.

----

Back at the coffee shop, Janus is complaining to Paw about her aunts superstitious beliefs. He says that if they were not such great tippers, he would have revealed long ago that he's straight (because they apparently think he's gay). He says he will no doubt get a lot of ribbing from Alwyn and his friends if they learn about his situation.

Just then, one of Paw's aunts enters the coffee shop, and Janus switches right away to his gay mode, greeting her good morning and paying her compliments. She leaves and returns to the back room, and right away Janus returns to normal.

Just then, Carla enters the coffee shop and orders some coffee from Paw. Janus immediately sits up straight on his seat and stares at her lovestruck as she moves into the room. We learn via Alwyn's voiceover that Carla is the only daughter of Congressman Loren, and that she's also Janus' "one great childhood love".

Janus introduces himself to Carla, and he is smiling broadly as they exchange handshakes, and it takes him some time to release her hand. Just then, Paw's aunt returns to the room with Janus' cup of coffee, and Janus is forced to return to his gay mode.

The situation turns for the worse for Janus when Paw's aunt goes on to ask for Janus' opinion on her hair, asking if a perm would be good for her.

When Paw's aunt leaves the room, Carla remarks that since Janus is a beautician, she wanted to ask if he would be available that night for home service, since she will be attending Hazel's debut. Before Janus can answer, she says that he is probably fully booked.

Janus tries to grab the opportunity to tell Carla that he is not actually gay, but unfortunately, Carla cannot hear him because just then, Paw starts to grind the coffee beans that Carla has come to buy. As Paw finishes grinding the coffee beans, Paw's aunt returns to the room, and Janus is forced to return to his gay mode before he can reveal the truth to Carla.

Left with no other option, Janus tells Carla that he's actually available that night, and Carla is delighted. They agree to meet at 7pm, just as Paw finishes wrapping up the coffee beans for Carla. Carla then leaves after reminding Janus of their appointment.

----

Later that evening, we see a montage of scenes as Janus arrives at Carla's home and proceeds to fix her hair and apply her make-up. Carla is extremely happy with the result, and when she asks how much his services cost, Janus says he won't be charging her for his service because artistic types like himself get enough fulfillment from seeing the beautiful results of their work. He is surprised and kilig when Carla hugs him to thank him.

He begins to gather up his equipment and just before he leaves, they find themselves staring at each other. Janus breaks the stare by saying "Grabe ka tumingin" and turns away to pick up his equipment. They have another awkward moment where Janus says goodbye, holds out one arm as if to hug her, but he changes his mind, and bids her goodbye again as he leaves the room.

-----

It's now the evening of the party, and we see Carla talking to Alwyn, then Mikel and Janus arrive. As Alwyn goes off to greet the other guests, Carla turns and sees Mikel and Janus together. She then waves and both Mikel and Janus wave back. Janus goes to greet her, but Carla walks past him to greet Mikel. Janus pretends to greet someone else, but the lady pushes him away and he crashes into a nearby waiter. LOL.

----

Later that evening, Jill introduces Alwyn as Hazel's 17th rose. The siblings dance together, but Hazel is still stone-faced and unhappy about the debut. When Alwyn mentions that he finds Jill interesting, Hazel warns him to not try his playboy routine on her friend. Alwyn replies that he's just interested in getting to know Jill. Hazel still looks annoyed as she tells him that if he had not left for the States, he would have met Jill long ago.

Jill then announces the 18th rose, Hazel's father. They start dancing together, and Hazel's father is all nostalgic and emotional, but Hazel still looks stone-faced as she assures her father that she's happy.

----

Still at the party, Carla is greeted by Councilor TJ Ramos, who tells her he's not surprised to see her at the party, since it's the perfect venue for networking, with their constituents all gathered there. Carla tells him she's just there to have fun, then quickly changes the subject by introducing her good friend, Mikel and her beautician Janus.

Janus says he knows TJ already, since he's the boyfriend of his bestfriend, Paw. Janus and Mikel trade a few friendly insults, then TJ introduces Paw to Carla. Carla replies that she actually knows Paw since she's a regular customer of Paw's coffee business. Carla then tries to escape TJ by saying she will go to get a drink, but TJ insists on joining her.

Janus rescues her by saying that he'll join her since she looks like she needs her make-up retouched. Carla gratefully takes his arm and compliments him on being so professional. When TJ tells Paw he intends to go after Carla, she is dismayed and asks how TJ can leave her alone with Mikel, whom she finds arrogant, but TJ says he needs to talk to the congressman's daughter.

Left alone, Paw takes a seat only to have Mikel tease her about her "nice boyfriend".

----

The scene shifts to Mhyco dressed in a suit, talking with a horse. He is debating whether or not he will enter the party. Just then, Hazel climbs through one of the fences towards Mhyco. She is apparently escaping the party to smoke, and she asks Mhyco if he has a lighter. She is upset when she accidentally bumps into him and breaks the cigarette she is holding.

Mhyco tells her she should really not smoke since it's bad for her health, and she snaps back telling him it's really none of his business.

She pulls a cellphone out of the bodice of her dress, then asks Mhyco if he can help her escape the ranch. Mhyco asks her if she can ride a horse, and in desperation, Hazel says yes. Hazel returns her cellphone to the bodice of her dress and pulls it out a few more times, as Mhyco prepares the horse. He also eyes her debutante gown with some skepticism. The two then get on the horse.

----

Back at the party, Alwyn is looking for Janus, dismayed at the way his reunion is turning out. He then approaches Jill, and compliments her on her hosting skills. He tells her she caught everyone's attention, including his. Jill thanks him, but starts looking for Hazel because she needs to go home. Alwyn asks her why she's in a rush to go home when it's only midnight, but Jill says she really must go home.

Alwyn offers to drive her home, saying that he heard Jill lives at a penthouse... he teases her about being a rich girl. Jill is uneasy and asks him how he found out, and Alwyn says he learned the info from Hazel. Jill then apologizes and runs off before Alwyn can stop her.

----

Still at the party, Paw reaches for a glass of water on the table, only to have Mikel snatch it out of her hand. Paw tries to wrest the glass out of his hands, saying that it was TJ's glass, but Mikel gives her a hard time. The two of them are still fighting over the glass when Janus, Carla, and TJ return.

TJ takes his leave, saying he's being called away. He asks Janus to take Paw home, then leaves after kissing Paw.

----

Meanwhile, Mhyco and Hazel are still on the horse heading home, but Hazel impatiently insists on being let off the horse, since it's walking so slowly. She complains that she can get home much faster by just walking. They both get off the horse, and Mhyco offers to escort her as she walks home, because it's so dark. He also asks her why she's in a rush to leave the debut, and wouldn't the debutante feel bad about her guests leaving?

Hazel reveals to him that SHE is the debutante, and Mhyco realizes who she is, and calls her by name. Hazel asks how he knows her, and he tells her he is Mhyco Aquino. He asks her if she remembers him, just as Hazel repeats his name, then starts hitting him. As he runs away from her, Hazel screams at him telling him to stay away from her or else she'll kill him.

----

The scene shifts to the parking lot of the ranch, as Paw, Janus, and Mikel are leaving the party. Paw is determined to ignore Mikel, but he grabs her and Janus tries to get her to let them take her home. Paw replies with No thanks, and says she would rather walk. Mikel lets her go and says it's just business and that she's taking things too personally. Paw tells him that unlike her, he's only concerned about money and doesn't appreciate sentimental value. She tells him to get ready because she's determined to fight him in business. Mikel tells her she's welcome to walk home if she wants, or better yet, wait for her boyfriend, who seems to have forgotten to return for her.

Paw starts walking away but Janus asks her to wait for him. Janus then approaches Mikel and tells him to think things through next time because he's no longer funny and is being hurtful. Janus places his bag in the front passenger seat of Mikel's car then goes to talk to Paw. He is surprised when Mikel gets into the car and drives off, leaving Paw and Janus standing in the parking lot.

----

The scene shifts to Hazel's home. They are all gathered in the living room, and Hazel's father is angrily reprimanding Hazel for her behavior. Hazel's step mom tries to reason with Hazel, saying she and her father have tried everything to get close to Hazel. Hazel's mom says at that point that it obviously wasn't enough. Hazel's step mom then accuses her sister of leaving her responsibilities behind, to which Hazel's mother angrily replies that her sister knows full well why she had to leave for America.

Hazel's mom goes to Hazel and reassures her that everything will be alright, since she is now back and they are now all together. Hazel stands up and angrily asks her mom why she bothered to come back. Everyone is stunned into silence and Hazel leaves the room.

As Alwyn tries to leave, his mom asks where he is going, and he responds that he needs some fresh air, as does the rest of the family.

----

The scene shifts to the entrance of the soon-to-open Coffee King. Alwyn finds Janus sitting there on the sidewalk, alone. As Mikel steps out of the store, Janus angrily accuses Mikel of being rude to Paw, then says he only came to retrieve his knapsack. Mikel hands it to Janus, saying that all his make-up equipment is there. He then sarcastically asks Janus about the book that's in the knapsack -- a diary?!

It looks like the two guys are about to come to blows, but Alwyn stops them. Janus says he's upset because Mikel acts like he has forgotten everything they've gone through together. Mikel apologizes and reminds Janus that he even offered Janus financial help if he needed it.

Alwyn breaks the tense silence by cracking a few gay jokes, and the two other guys start horsing around, just as Mhyco walks up to join them. Mhyco complains to Alwyn that Hazel beat him up and that he almost lost his horse in the process. Alwyn laughs and asks why Hazel would beat Mhyco up. Mhyco says he has long ago told Alwyn that Hazel is a bit crazy. But Mhyco admits that as he was escorting Hazel home, being with her brought back memories of their many childhood misadventures. He asks for their understanding, saying that he's just embarrassed about his current situation.

Janus then reveals that he has a surprise for all of them. He pulls out a scrapbook from his knapsack and says it's full of photos and assorted knick-knacks from their childhood. Alwyn and Mhyco are excited to see, and Janus looks meaningfully at Mikel as he tells his friends that he's not the type to forget.

Mikel gets up and enters the Coffee King store leaving the three friends go over the scrapbook. He returns to throw a tire in front of his surprised friends. He asks them if they remember that tire, then says that he chose to open the Coffee King store at that location because it was their old hangout. He says he had to retrieve that old tire because it was too important a part of their friendship. He then tells Janus that he hasn't forgotten. The two friends exchange high-fives and hugs.

---

As the episode closes, we hear Alwyn's voiceover: Kahit malaki na tayo, para pa rin tayo naglalaro ng taguan. Pero ngayon, iba na ang mga pinagtataguan natin...

Alwyn: Responsibilidad...
The scene shifts to Carla talking on her cellphone: Yes Dad, don't worry. Di ko kayo papahiya... as she picks up one of many file folders marked "Projects of Congressman Loren".

Alwyn: Katotohanan...
The scene shifts to Jill entering a building and taking an elevator to emerge at a rooftop. There, she enters a small room on the roof, and puts on what appears to be a maid's uniform.

Alwyn: Kalaban...
The scene shifts to Paw sitting inside her coffee shop, looking worried as she eyes the soon-to-open Coffee King store across the street.

Alwyn: o bumabalik na nakaraan...
The scene shifts to Hazel sitting alone in her bedroom, crying as she holds a photo of Alwyn and her mother.

Alwyn continues: Parang taguan nga ang buhay, 'no?

Episode 13.0

This is the episode summary for the Week 13 episode, 5th Heartbreak Sunday.

Episode summary text courtesy of Angelica. Thank you!

-------

The episode begins with recaps from the drama loventure that the 5 final loveteams began last week. Today, the drama loventure comes to a finale as we learn the ending of the 5 love stories.

As the wedding begins, a voice calls out from behind the church yelling to stop the wedding. Surprisingly, it is not Paw who had yelled, but instead another young lady dressed in pink. She announces 'Mahal Kita,' and the priest officiating the wedding tells her that they haven't quite gotten to that part yet, but it's good she spoke early. He then asks Mikel if there is anything he'd like to confess. Mikel responds that he doesn't, and he doesn't even know the girl.

Then his fiancee Erika reveals that the young lady loves her, and she loves her also. Erika walks to her side and holds onto her arm. Everyone looks at her in shock. The young lady apologizes and maintains that she really does love Erika, and that they've been going out for a year already. Erika apologizes also, and mentions that hopefully Mikel will forgive her.

Mikel calmly tells her that it's okay, and Erika compliments him for being a good person. She adds that someday Mikel will find the girl that will truly make him happy. Mikel replies for her not to worry about him and that he knows that his dream girl is out there somewhere, while glancing at Paw. Erika thanks him quickly and she and her lover run out of the church.

After the event, Jill tells Alwyn that his monetary gift to her was a lot, enough fare for two people to go back to her province. Alwyn offers to accompany her back home. Jill asks him if he's okay, and if he wants to get beaten up by her 15 older brothers. Alwyn is slightly surprised, and says whatever, as long as Jill will save him. Then, they walk out of the church.

As Carlo, Vanessa, and Ahron are walking out of the church, Ahron asks his brother how one girl could possibly love another girl. Carlo explains to Aaron that there are many things in the world that he needs to learn, and Ahron rubs his stomach and responds that he's getting hungry. Vanessa remarks that Ahron is so cute, and as Aaron ducks down she accidentally pinches Carlo's cheek. Teasingly Aaron gets up and pinches his brother's cheeks also and says how cute he is. Carlo asks Vanessa if she wants to go with them, and she responds okay. They go off and head over to Carlo's car.

Still in the church, Mhyco pulls out his cellphone and reads a text message from Hazel: "Bebe ko, lagi mo tatandaan bear kita," to which Mhyco responds Amen.

Carla goes off and gets the walking stick for her blind teacher. He thanks her for it and thanks her also for coming with him to the wedding to sing. She responds that if he hadn't shouted at his other student, then she wouldn't be there in the first place. She continues that even though her dad's not there and he's not proud of her, it's okay because her teacher is. He smiles and tells her to call him "Janus" instead of "sir." She leads him out and they walk together smiling.

Paw and Mikel meet inside the church after everyone has left, and she apologizes to him for coming to the wedding without telling him. She says she just wanted to see him one more time, before he was to be married. Mikel pauses and smiles, and she asks why. Paw questions him why he's smiling, because she thinks he should have been sad because he was the one who was left at the altar. Mikel admits that he is sad, but explains that there is a saying, "When God closes a door, he opens a window." He compliments her and tells her that she's a beautiful "window." They smile and stand together, and the story ends.

------

The 5th Heartbreak Sunday begins with a musical performance by Soapdish as the 5 final loveteams enter the studio by walking through the crowds of fans.

Luis and Anne introduce the Love Council for the 5th Heartbreak Sunday.

Direk Joey Javier Reyes -- award winning director and writer, director of romantic comedy movies such as "May Minamahal", "Narinig mo ba ang latest?" and "Can This Be Love";

Direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng -- director of movies such as "Labs Kita, Okay Lang", "Soltera", "Ngayong Nandito Ka", and teleseryes such as "Pangako Sa 'Yo", "Basta't Kasama kita", and "Hiram";

Mr. Qpido -- Direk Laurenti Dyogi

Then the love council gives their comments on each of the final 5 loveteams.

CarVane
Direk Joey: Carlo and Vane, napanood namin ang ginawa ninyo, may isa lang comment ako -- maybe i expected something more from you Carlo, alam ko na you're a very seasoned actor, nakailang pelikula na kitang nakatrabaho, siguro mas mataas na ang ine-expect ko sa kalidad ng acting kesa sa nakita ko. At tsaka Vane, bagong-bago ka pa and you're very pretty and I see yung effort na binibigay mo sa pag-improve ng Tagalog mo. I wish there was a little more para i-bring out yung chemistry sa material na binigay sa inyo. That's it.

JaRla
Mr. Qpido: Uh, si Jarla.. Janus, napaalala mo ang mga tao, sa mga viewers natin, na isang ka dramatic actor. At si Carla, mahusay ang partner mo, so kailanang mong tumapat ng maayos sa kanya. You have to prove to everyone na kaya ninyong maging bida, hindi lang supporting role.

PawEl --
Direk Gerry: Paw, you're very very good, in what we previewed. Mikel, may konting problema lang, parang you don't connect with Paw, and you don't connect with the audience, you have to work on that. Your eyes, your eyes are blanko, pero physically bagay na bagay na kayo.

MhyZel --
Direk Joey: Alam nyo, kayong dalawa ay pinakamabenta in terms of youthful looks. (To the audience) Wag kayo magtitili... Pataposin nyo ako. Pero alam mo guys, if you really want, kung seryioso kayo sa pagiging isang loveteam, kung gusto ninyo makamit ang position sa industria, dapat matuto kayong magcontrol ng acting ninyo. May tendency kayong pareho mag OA, may tendency kanyong pareho mag soap opera acting, and worse than that, may tendency kayong na idaan ang acting sa pagpapa-cute. Ang arte ay hindi lamang ang pagpacute at soap opera acting.

JilWyn --
Direk Gerry: JilWyn, you're both very good, you compliment each other, bagay na bagay kayo. Nakakakilig. Very good, very good.

Then, Luis and Anne prepare to award the immunity bear to the strongest loveteam.

Mr. Qpido comments that before they announce who will get it, he wants everyone to know that the love council was uninanimous in their decision as to who to give the bear to. He gives the floor to the rest of the love council for them to give their comment on them.

Direk Joey: They look so good together, ang ganda ganda nila together, ang timpla ng acting nila halos mag ka-swak na. In other words, kung isasali ang pares na ito sa isang tv show, alam ko na it will work. So um, for me, they are the best of the teams based sa nakita namin, sa pinanood namin.

Direk Gerry: Nasabi na ni Direk Joey, pero bagay na bagay itong talaga, they're both very good, nagsusuportahan sa acting, nakakakilig panoorin, they look good physically.

Then, the immunity bear is awarded to JilWyn. Jill jumps in excitement and Alwyn sighs in relief, she embraces him and grins.

Then, the fate is decided for the other 4 loveteams.

JaRla --
Luis reveals that they got an okay score from the love council, but they had the highest text/PLDT votes, so they go to the Red Heart.

CarVane --
Luis reveals that their love council score was average and their text/PLDT votes were also average, so they go to the Blue Heart.

MhyZel and PawEl --
Luis reveals that MhyZel and PawEl both had below average scores from the love council. However, MhyZel had higher text/PLDT votes so they go to the Red Heart while PawEl goes to the blue heart.

So, the two weakest loveteams are CarVane and PawEl. Luis and Anne gave them a chance to say their last words to each other.

CarVane --
Carlo: [he pulls out a bracelet and puts it Vanessa's wrist] Symbol ng friendship, na kahit anong mangyari, nandito ako para sayo. And i'm so very proud of you, dahil kung di dahil sayo, wala naman kami dito. [They embrace].

At maraming salamat sa oras na nakasama kita and thank you for just being you and being the person that makes me kilig, laugh, and makes me smile. Alam mo Carlo, I know we've been though a lot together, and there were times na tawa tayo ng tawa, at natatawa tayo, and we can talk about weird things like in Hong Kong that only we can understand. At there were times na nagiging magulo tayo at iyak ako ng iyak pero alam mo sa lahat na naghappen sa atin before, I'm happy because it made our relationship as loveteam stronger.

PawEl --
Mikel: I've been saving something for you ever since we were paired up. Na-alala mo na binigay ko ang key kay Carla... Well, this one actually signifies ang puso ko. In truth, masaya ako na ikaw ang naging partner ko. Ayun. Walang iba masabi. [He gives her a bracelet with a heart and puts it on her wrist]

Paw: Ako gusto ko mag thank you sayo kasi kahit medyo moody ganun, lagi ka nandyan, and thank you din kasi sa journey na nadaanan natin sa Qpids, hindi na magiging special kung hindi dahil sayo. At tsaka ngayon every time na kakain ako ng chocolates meron akong naalala memory, di ba? Love you baby bear!

Then, the love council shared their last thoughts on the two weakest loveteams before revealing who will leave.

Direk Gerry: PawEl, sinabi ko kanina physically you look good together, pero hindi lang looks ang isang loveteam. First and foremost, you need to connect with each other. Sa napanood namin, may kulang kay Mikel. Kung bibigyan kayo ng chance and your lovestory continues, you should work on that, dapat maramdaman ng audience at mga fans ninyo ang connection ninyo bilang loveteam. Kung ano man ang decision, good luck.

Direk Joey: Carlo, even before sumali ka sa contest na ito, ikaw ay si Carlo Aquino. As a matter of fact, nagtataka ako kung bakit ka nasa contest na 'to. Ikaw ay isang premiyado at isa sa pinakarespetadong young stars in the country today. Vane, nakilila kita sa workshop pa sa scq2. At alam ko ang lahat ng pinagdaan mo mula noong scq2 hangang sa eliminations and all that, and i know how hard you work para magiging tagumpay ka sa na pinili mong career. Kaya Carlo, Vanessa, you look good together as a loveteam but believe me separately, bilang Carlo and Vanessa, magiging matagumpay kayo.

Then, Direk Joey reveals who will be eliminated, but also mentions that it's not because they are bad, but it's because there is something better waiting for them out there.

The love council then reveals that CarVane is the next loveteam to be eliminated.

Carlo and Vanessa share their last dance while their scenes flash across the screens. Vanessa sheds tears while they dance and the rest of the cast comes over to comfort them. Luis presents them with flowers and Vanessa embraces her best friend Paw.

Luis and Anne then reveal the secret surprise that awaits the final 4 loveteams. Instead of another elimination, the final 4 loveteams will all be in the grand finals fighting for the chance to be the ultimate loveteam.

They will all star in a 5 week mini youth series before the grand finals, and this will be the big drama loventure that will be the basis for the decision on the final heartbreak night. The ultimate loveteam will win the prize of starring in a drama series.

Episode 12.0

This is the episode summary for the Qpids Week 12 episode, the 2nd Drama Loventure.

Detailed episode summary text courtesy of Angelica.

CF's Note: Screenshots will be delayed.

------

The episode begins at a church. It is a wedding and the entourage is walking in. Vanessa is there as a bridesmaid, and as she walks down the aisle, Carlo looks on from the pews.

In the background, Carla sings "When You Find Your Voice," as Janus sits beside her. Mhyco is an altar boy/sacristan serving the wedding. Jill and Alwyn sit in the audience as well, and a nervous Paw walks in to the Church. Mikel is the groom, waiting in front. As his bride-to-be walks down the aisle, Paw takes her seat in the pews. She looks on as the priest is about to begin the ceremony. As he starts to speak, Paw stands up and shouts that they have to stop the wedding.

PawEl, The Day Before

The scene flashes back to Paw and Mikel's encounter the day before the wedding. Mikel is at his bachelor's party with a few of his friends. Gian reassures him that the exotic dancer they got is beautiful, so he should just enjoy the party.

Mikel asks him what's going on, and Gian responds that it was Gian's idea to get her. She's going to come out the big gift box in the middle of the room, and that this surprise coming out of the box is one that Mikel will remember for the rest of his life. The night will be hot.

Meanwhile, Paw and her gay friend "Tyra" walk through the gate of the house. Paw is uneasy and asks "Tyra" to help her look for another job -- maybe there is something they can pawn, maybe she can work for Aling Bebang, or maybe she could work in the carnival.

"Tyra" tells her to get a reality check -- Paw has no more things left -- "the crows already turned white and she didn't even save anything" -- so there's no other alternative. All Paw has to do is dance [Tyra also remarks that his crush is there too .. haha] If they treat her badly, "Tyra" promises to take care of them.

Paw is still uneasy and "Tyra" reminds her that she has to do this for her Lola Ofel, so she can get her operation. Paw reluctantly agrees to push through with it, and "Tyra" texts Gian to tell them that he and Paw are coming inside. The boys at the party cheer, and take Mikel outside so Paw can get ready.

Gian ushers Paw in, and leads her into the box. Paw, dressed like an Arabian princess, takes off her jacket to reveal her sexy outfit. Gian asks "Tyra" if he's sure Paw is any good, and "Tyra" reassures him. Gian directs Paw to dance sexy and make it nice. Paw finally gets into the box and makes a quick silent prayer to God.

The boys bring Mikel back in, smiling and cheering. Mikel doesn't look too thrilled about what is about to happen. "Tyra" starts the music, and Paw breaks open from the box. Surrounded by boys, Paw awkwardly dances in the middle as they cheer. Mikel looks displeased and goes over to break up the circle. He holds on to Paw as she begins to sob quietly, and he scolds the boys for disrespecting her.

Gian replies that Mikel is overacting because this is all for free -- either Mikel is being too conservative, or maybe he just wants the dancer all to himself. Gian and the rest of the boys leave, remarking that Mikel can have Paw all to himself.

"Tyra" thanks Mikel, as tears are flowing from Paw's eyes. Mikel apologizes for the behavior of his friends, and Paw pulls down the veil covering her face. Shocked, Mikel recognizes her and says her name. Equally surprised, she looks up and says his name also. "Tyra" is also surprised and asks them if they know each other, and Paw faints.

"Tyra" sneaks off and leaves as Mikel brings Paw some water. She says to him that she truly doesn't really do this, but she just had to. She calls out to "Tyra", but he has already walked away. Mikel tells her that he believes her, and Paw responds that it's embarrassing that this is how they have to meet again.

He begins to say that it's been a while, but Paw says, how could she forget him, he was the 'senorito' of her and her grandmother in the province. She recalls how they used to be back then -- teasing each other, playing patintero -- and then she pauses. She's embarrassed to say, and Mikel asks if it's about the sances she used to bring from her grandmother. Paw then reveals that Mikel was her first kiss, but that was along time ago, when they were still kids.

Mikel goes off for a second and brings over a box from his closet. He places it on the table and opens it, taking out a woven black string bracelet. He asks Paw if she remembers it, and he reveals that Paw made it for him before he went to Manila. She told him back then to always wear it so he wouldn't forget her. So he kept it.

Paw quietly says he never wrote to her, and Mikel answers that his father had a lot of problems, and then he just found out that she moved. Paw says she knows he has a lot of friend in Manila, and she assumed that he had just forgotten about her... and also she is going through a lot with her grandmother, Lola Ofel, whilch is why she's doing all this. Paw vows to do everything to help her grandmother get better, because her grandmother suffers from an enlarged heart [which Paw stutters to identify the name of the disease] and needs an operation right away. Mikel puts his arm around her and pulls her close to comfort her. He assures her that he's there for her and that he'll help her out. She thanks him and says that she thought she was alone in the world, but her grandmother was right in saying that Mikel is good. They should have been together, but he left. Paw prayed that he would've come back. Mikel leans over and is about to kiss her.

The scene continues the next morning, and Paw had spent the night at Mikel's place. She wakes up from sleeping beside him, wearing his shirt. She gently takes his arm off her to not disturb him, and looks at him sweetly. She then looks at his baby picture and smiles. She walks over and curiously picks up Mikel's wedding invitation and opens it. She sees the names "Mikel" and "Erika" and reads the invitation. She looks upset as she puts the invitation down. She grabs her clothes and quietly leaves.

The scene flashes back to right before the wedding, and as Paw is about to enter the church, Carlo carries Vanessa and walks in, with Ahron beside him.

CarVane, The Day Before

The scene then flashes back to Carlo and Vanessa's encounter the day before the wedding. Ahron is wiping the front of a car, and Carlo stops him, telling Ahron that the car might get scratched and Carlo's boss with get mad.

Ahron says to Carlo that he wants to help him, his brother, because Carlo is so tired. Carlo responds that he'll take care of him, and he promised their mom that he wouldn't forget about him. He tells Ahron to relax and eat. Carlo reminds Ahron to sleep early because they have to drive to a wedding tomorrow, and Ahron has to just stay in the car. Ahron affirms, and pulls out a magazine as Carlo wipes down the car.

Ahron turns to a page with Vanessa's advertisement in it, and teases Carlo for buying another magazine with pictures of Vanessa. Ahron begins to sing "Instant Bounce," and remarks on how pretty she is, and that she and Carlo would look good together. Carla replies that pretty girls like Vanessa are of a different kind -- what if they had no food, could they feed her toyo? These girls only exist in dreams. Ahron tells him to wait and that he'll pray to God for a minute. Carlo tells him he's crazy, and directs him to eat siopao. Then, Carlo continues to look at her picture.

The next day, Carlo drives to the wedding and gets into a minor accident with Vanessa's van. Carlo and the driver of the van step out of the cars, and Carlo asks him how he's going to pay for the damage. The driver of Vanessa's van says that Carlo was the one driving too fast.

Carlo tells him to look at the van's damage, and as they get into an argument, Vanessa steps out of the van, asking whose fault it is. Ahron opens the car door to push Carlo into Vanessa, and asks if she's the girl in the commercial and starts to sing. Carlo covers his mouth to stop him, and Vanessa remarks that she's late. She apologizes that she doesn't have any cash, and tells Carlo to talk with the driver. Carlo smiles, and she hurries off. Carlo tells the driver that it's his fault and he'll call his boss. He calls out to Ahron, who has dissappeared.

In the church, Vanessa is touching up her makeup and Ahron sneaks up behind her. He apologizes for his brother and explains that he's trying to make more money. Vanessa smiles and compliments him on his cuteness. He thanks her and says he takes after his brother. She says he's a ladies' man too. She asks where his brother is, and Ahron replies that Carlo is taking care of the car.

Ahron continues and recounts his story to Vanessa -- his brother is a good man but he's afriad of losing his job because he's the only one providing for the both of them and they are orphans. Vanessa is impressed at Carlo's efforts to deal with a cruel world.

Ahron continues and reveals to her that everytime her commercial comes on, Carlo watches, and also that he has a lot of pictures of her in his room, and he's always talking to her pictures, and... just then Carlo comes in and scolds Ahron for leaving his side because Ahron could have been in danger, and he was being hard-headed.

Vanessa tries to intercede but Carlo says he knows what he's doing. Vanessa remarks that Carlo shouldn't give Ahron a hard times in front of people because he can think for himself. Carlo responds that Ahron is his brother and he knows how to discipline him. She says she thinks he's overreacting, and Carlo looks down to see that Ahron has disappeared once again. He blames Vanessa, and she asks why. They go out to look for him.

Outside the church, Carlo worriedly searches for Ahron, wondering if Ahron had gotten kidnapped, how could he possibly pay the ransom? Vanessa follows and tells him to think positive, and that all this happened because Carlo was fighting with her when Ahron was beside him. He remarks back that he was only saying what was right to him. She doesn't know the hardhsip they go through because everything she wants is just given to her. He was a construction worker, a driver -- just so he can provide for his brother. He promised his mom that he'd take car of him -- and this is how they separate.

Vanessa apologizes and explains that Ahron was the one who approached her and told her about how caring Carlo is, and how Ahron is so proud of him, and about her pictures. Carlo walks down the steps of the church and Vanessa trips as she tries to follow him. He helps her sit down on the steps, and massages her hurt ankle asking if she is okay. They smile and Ahron comes from behind, smiling and saying 'Success!' to his plan. He starts singing the jingle to Vanessa's commercial. Carlo is a bit annoyed and Vanessa smiles. He carries her up and Ahron sings happily behind as they head back into the Church.

The scene continues as Carlo puts Vanessa down. Jill is praying at the church, and as police officers pass beside her, she covers her face with a handkerchief. As she gets up, she runs into Alwyn. She asks him if he's going to turn her over to the police.

JilWyn, The Day Before

Then the scene flashes to Jill and Alwyn's encounter the day before the wedding. Jill has a veil over he head as she is parying to God. She doesn't want to do this, and she knows steaing is wrong, but she doesn't know how she'll get home to the province. She promises that as soon as she gets enough money, she'll stop stealing.

As she is about to get the wallet of the lady in front of her, Alwyn startles her because he won the lottery of 10 million pesos. He screams at everyone and hugs Jill, and unknown to him, she manages to steal the ticket from his pocket. He recognizes her but she covers her face and tries to leave. He asks for her name and she says "Gigi" and runs.

Alwyn continues to rejoice again and reaches into his pocket to get the ticket, but it's gone. He realizes "Gigi" stole it and runs after her. He catches her sitting outside the church as she kisses the winning ticket, and chases her around a tree. She trips and bumps her head on the ground. He grabs the ticket and walks away, but then turns around and walks back to help her up.

She puts ice on her head and asks him if he's going to take her down to the police station. Alwyn bitingly responds that she's too heavy to carry all the way down there. She sarcastically apologizes, and says that Alwyn must have enjoyed watching her fall. He replies that she wouldn't have slipped if she didn't steal his ticket, and asks if she's at all ashamed of what she's done.

Jill explains her story to Alwyn. She didn't intend to do this. She wanted to help her family so she came to Manila, but she was treated poorly by her boss. So, she escaped, but she had no money. She got involved with the wrong crowd, who taught her how to steal in the church. Alwyn says no wonder that he always saw her there, except he thought that she was praying a lot.

Jill replies that she still talks to God, and asks him why she has such misfortune. He parents are too old to continue working for their only child, their 16 year old daughter. Alwyn is surprised at her age, and Jill replies that her parents were both good at work and good in bed.

Alwyn then shares his story to her -- his sibling is in the hospital with dengue, so they need some money to pay for it. He says he'll pray that this won't happen again, and heads off to claim his prize. He replaces her melted ice with new ice for her bump, and teases her about how big it is. She asks him for his name, and he gives it to her. She tells him to take care as he heads off.

The next day, at the wedding, Jill is back at the church, praying again. She sees the police coming down the aisle, and hides her face. She gets up to leave, and as she gets up, she runs into Alwyn. She asks him if he's going to turn her over to the police. He replies no, and gives her an envelope.

She asks him what it is, and he tells her that it's money for her to go back home to the province. She sits down, and through her tears she tells him how important this money is to her, because she misses her family so much. Even though it's only a small part of the millions that he's won, it's equivalent to billions for her.

He tells her not to cry and gives her a handkerchief to wipe her tears. He reveals to her that in reality he only won 20,000 pesos, and she is surprised. He wasn't reading the right numbers in the newspaper. But, he did hit 5 right numbers so he got a consolation prize anyway. Jill doesn't want to accept the money but Alwyn says his sibling is out of the hospital and he still had money left over to give to her. Then Jill asks him, since the police aren't here for her, then who are they hear for?

Behind closed doors, Mhyco and Hazel peek out. He tells her to be quiet, because they might find them.

MhyZel, The Day Before

Then, the scene flashes back to Mhyco and Hazel's encounter the day before the wedding. Mhyco is the sacristan at the church, and he is cleaning the sacristy in the back of the church.

Hazel bursts into the sacristy and comes to him worried and crying. She urges him to leave with her, because her mom found out about their relationship from reading her diary. Mhyco worries also, and says that they're in trouble. Hazel continues and tells him that her mom knows about how they would meet here in the church, and that her mom wants to take her away to the United States.

Mhyco replies that they're still young, and maybe he can talk it out with her mom. She responds that her mom doesn't listen to her, so she's probably not going to listen to him either. Then, she pauses and asks him if he loves her. He asks her what kind of question is that, and says of course. Hazel then replies that then he won't let her mom separate them and affirms that they can make this work. He embraces her and through her tears she says that she doesn't want to go back home.

Later that night, Mhyco opens a can of soup for Hazel and him to eat. Hazel looks at it displeased, and says to him that she can't eat that. Mhyco tells her that whatever he has to deal with, she has to also. He spoons some of the soup onto some pandesal, and tells her to imagine that it is a delicious cheeseburger. He takes a bite out of the sandwich and remarks that it's delicious.

Then, he offers it to Hazel and directs her to try it. Hazel closes her eyes and repeats to herself that it's a cheeseburger and takes a bite out of it. Mhyco smiles and says that she was able to do it all along. She leans onto him and he puts his arm around her in comfort.

The next day, as Mhyco is sleeping on the floor and Hazel is sleeping on a mat, a fellow sacristan goes over and wakes up Mhyco because he overslept. The priest is looking for him because they have to start serving for the wedding. The sacristan also tells Hazel that her mom is outside with some police and they've been searching for her.

Mhyco tells Hazel that it's his chance to talk to her mom, and that maybe they can face her. Hazel's mom and the police enter, and pull them apart. As the police hold Mhyco back and Hazel's mom tries to pull her away, her mom says that Mhyco tried to kidnap her daughter. Hazel continues to yell and her mom slaps her to try and control her. Mhyco yells back to tell Hazel's mom not to hurt her daughter, and that he loves Hazel very much. His tears begin to fall as he says he loves her, and she loves him, and God taught them how to love. Hazel's mom snaps back that Mhyco is even using God's name for bad purposes, and that she won't let them be together.

Hazel breaks away from her mom and tells her mom that she's been controlling her life -- where she went to school, what kind of friends she had -- She loves Mhyco, but ever since her dad left her and her mom, her mom became too overprotective. Hazel says she knows what she's doing and questions her mom why she can't trust her.

Her mom replies to her amid tears that Hazel doesn't know how bad the world is, and she should go with her. Hazel resists again, and goes to hug Mhyco. Mhyco tells her to go with her mom. She says she can't and he reassures her that she can do it. As they embrace, Mhyco promises to her that if she ever has a problem, or if she needs someone to wipe her tears... to just turn around and he'll be right there, right behind her. Hazel's mom finally pulls her away and they go on to leave the church, and Mhyco sits down and cries.

The scene continues on and we see Carla singing at the wedding, and Janus is there to provide the music.

JaRla, The Day Before

At the start of the episode, we see Carla singing at a wedding ceremony with Janus sitting beside her.

Then, the scene flashes back to Janus and Carla's encounter the day before the wedding. Carla is sitting outside a music studio with a fellow student. She asks the other student who she has for a teacher, and the girl replies that she is with Mr. Vinuya. Carla responds that she has Mr. del Prado, and she heard that he was the best teacher there.

The other student agrees, but mentions that Mr. del Prado has a mean personality. Carla replies that she doesn't care, as long as he can make her voice sound beautiful, so that she can prove her father wrong.

She clutches a piece of paper and the student asks her what it is, and Carla replies that it's her favorite song. Just then, Mr. del Prado appears at a doorway, wearing sunglasses, and he yells at a departing student that she should be practicing more because she's supposed to be singing for a wedding, not a wake! He then yells for his next student, Miss Carla Loren. Carla gets up and bids her fellow student goodbye as she goes in for her lesson. Another teacher comes out just then with a guitar for the other student.

Carla enters Mr. del Prado's studio, and remarks that it is an honor to be working with him. She introduces herself to him, and asks if she can shake his hand, and extends her own hand out to him. He pauses, then replies that he would shake her hand, except he doesn't know where it is. Yes, I'm blind, he says, as Carla belatedly realizes her mistake. He tells her to save the drama for an episode of 'Maalala Mo Kaya'. They're not here for drama, but to make music.

He says since it's their first meeting, he wants to hear her voice, so he directs her to sing any song. Carla nervously walks to one side of the room, and pulls out the piece of paper that she was holding. She quickly unfolds it and walks back to his side of the room and begins to sing, "When You Find Your Voice." At first she is a bit nervous, but after some time, she gains confidence and starts singing beautifully.

After a few lines, Mr. del Prado slaps the table and Carla suddenly stops. She nervously apologizes and asks if she sounded bad, just as he gets up from his chair. She asks him what's wrong and he tells Carla that he's not feeling well, and that she should come back later. Carla replies that she'll come back after lunch, and worriedly leaves the studio.

After she leaves, Janus uses his walking stick to find his way around the room, then sits on a chair. He takes off his sunglasses, and we see tears rolling down his face.

Later that day, Carla is eating lunch with a fellow student when Mr. del Prado walks up from behind, calling her name. She gets up too quickly, and accidentally bumps into him, spilling her food on his shirt. She nervously tries to wipe the food off, and he stops her by grabbing hold of her wrist. He tells her that it's okay; he'll just change his shirt.

He scolds her for being clumsy because all he wanted to say was she can go inside the studio after lunch. There is a pause as they both realize that he's still holding her wrist, and he quickly releases his hold when she pulls her hand away.

Carla heads into the studio as he goes to change his clothes. Sitting by herself, Carla begins to sing "When You Find Your Voice" again, but she has difficulty with a particularly high note and gets frustrated. She yells at herself, saying that her voice is worth nothing and that her father was right all along.

Just then, Mr. del Prado walks in, and says to her that her father must be deaf. She apologizes, and he asks her why she stopped singing, because she has a beautiful voice. She apologizes again, and he asks her why she's always apologizing.

After a little hesitation, she replies that when he yells at her it reminds her of her father. He is always berating her for wanting to pursue music when he thinks she should be studying law or medicine like her siblings. And so, she is always apologizing.

Mr. del Prado tells her that she shouldn't apologize for what she wants; how can she make her dad believe that she was meant to do this if she can't have faith in her own abilities.

He then asks her why she chose to sing, "When You Find Your Voice." She replies that it's because it's a song about finding her strength, her strength to tell her dad that singing is what she really wants. Mr. del Prado slowly reveals that his former girlfriend, Abby, had composed that song and dedicated it to him because he was always afraid to face his problems.

Carla responds that Abby must be really proud that her song is now so popular. He replies that she would have been, except that she could never know, because she's dead. His tears begin to fall as he reveals that he had lost his sight in the car accident that claimed Abby's life.

Ever since the accident, he has been angry at the world. Carla responds that he shouldn't be like that, and that Abby would have wanted him to be happy. He further reveals that he and Abby had been planning to get married this year. Carla reaches out and takes his hand as he continues to cry.
