9 Love Princesses, Cupid’s love arrow

ISN’T IT ROMANTIC – Whose hearts will Cupid’s love arrow pierce?

But the question is getting ahead of the story as there will be a long process before the hearts in reference are pierced, chosen. Which is the format of the most romantic reality show this side of TV town, "Qpids," which premieres Monday, May 2, on ABS-CBN.

For a start, nine Love Princesses were chosen from among hundreds of applicants by network management led by director Lauren Dyogi and Jon Ilagan. The nine girls, all very pretty, are: Karel Marquez, Pauleen Luna, Hazel Ann Mendoza, Jill Yulo, Paw Diaz, Vanessa Gomez, Carla Loren (used to be Humphries), Isabel Blaesi and Andrea Torres.

Aspiring to be their Princes Charm-ing are John Wayne Sace, Carlo Aquino, Mhyco Aquino, Mikel Campos, Alwyn Uytingco, Janus del Prado, TJ Ramos, Aaron Concepcion, Marc Acueza, Gab Drilon, Michael Agassi, Marc Cortez, and the Roco twins Dominic and Felix.

At the presscon hosted by Rykka I. Dylim and Eric John Salut, each of the nine Love Princesses were asked to choose three preferences among the Princes Charming. Popular choices were Carlo Aquino, John Wayne Sace, TJ Ra-mos, Mikel Campos, Alwyn Uytingco, Michael Agassi.

As to who will be paired with who, ABS-CBN management will have the final say.

TEXT VOTES – When the final Princes Charming shall have been paired with the nine Love Princesses, then the televiewers take over. Their votes via text will determine who’ll be the next loveteam of ABS-CBN. They may well follow in the footsteps of such popular loveteams as Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa (before Diether Ocampo "stole" Kristine’s heart), John Prats and Heart Evangelista (before Geoff Eigenmann entered the scene), John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos, Claudine Barretto and the late Rico Yan, Hero Angeles and Sandara Park.

VALENTINE IN APRIL – The presscon for "Qpids" was billed Valentine in April, artists and guests requested to come in red. The training hall at the 13th floor of the Eugenio Lopez Jr. Building was decorated with pink balloons, red buntings and curtains. The centerpiece of each table was white vase filled with red roses. The atmosphere was truly Valentine.

As always the food (lunch) served was sumptuous and delicious. And the service topnotch.

Each guest was gifted with cute pink "Qpids" teddy bear, available in the market along with other "Qpids" items.
